LandCruiser 300 Series Desert GVM Kits
Keep your passenger configuration—with increased capacity engineered before first registration.
KME Vehicle Engineering’s LandCruiser 300 Series Desert Kits combine an engineered suspension package with increased vehicle mass ratings for eligible new LC300s.
Designed for touring, towing and heavily equipped vehicles, the pre-registration Second Stage of Manufacture pathway can provide a GVM of 4,000 kg or 4,210 kg, a GCM of 7,800 kg and braked towing capacity (BTC) of up to 4,000 kg, depending on the approved configuration.

Pre-registration SSM
Engineered and completed before first registration.
4,210 kg GVM
Increased capacity for passengers, accessories, equipment and tow-ball load
7,800 kg GCM
Increased combined vehicle and trailer mass capability for the approved configuration.
Up to 4,000 kg BTC
Available with the approved towing package and compatible equipment

More carrying capacity. More towing capability. Passenger configuration retained.
The standard LandCruiser 300 Series has a GVM of 3,280 kg. Once passengers, bullbars, winches, roof racks, drawers, auxiliary batteries, touring equipment and tow-ball download are added, the remaining payload can reduce quickly.
The KME Desert Kit is an integrated suspension and engineering package for eligible new LC300s. It increases the vehicle’s approved mass capability while retaining the passenger-wagon configuration.
The usable payload and towing margin will still depend on the completed vehicle mass, axle-load distribution, trailer mass, tow-ball download and every lower applicable limit.

A mass-rating upgrade must consider the complete vehicle rather than suspension components in isolation. Depending on the selected approved configuration, the KME Desert Kit addresses:
-
engineered suspension components;
-
GVM and axle-load capability;
-
brake and ESC performance;
-
approved wheel and tyre combinations;
-
compatible tow hitches for the 4,000 kg towing package;
-
installation and evidence requirements; and
-
pre-registration SSM documentation.
Why pre-registration matters
The Desert Kit’s SSM pathway applies to an eligible new vehicle modified before first registration. Planning early allows the vehicle variant, suspension, mass ratings, wheels, tyres, towing requirements and other accessories to be considered as one approved configuration.
Contact KME Vehicle Engineering before taking delivery or allowing the vehicle to be registered. We can then confirm the available configuration and coordinate the requirements with the dealer and installer.

Already own a LandCruiser 300?
This Desert Kit service is specifically aimed at new vehicles before first registration.
If your LC300 is already registered, KME Vehicle Engineering can still assess available post-registration engineering options, including:

GCM upgrades where an applicable pathway exists;
-
braked towing capacity upgrades where applicable;
-
suspension modifications; and
-
other vehicle modifications.
