Can an already-modified Toyota LandCruiser be certified?
Potentially, yes. KME Vehicle Engineering can assess the existing vehicle and modifications, review available supporting evidence and identify what further engineering work, inspection, testing or rectification may be required before certification can be considered.
Will a LandCruiser GVM upgrade increase its towing capacity or GCM?
Not automatically. GVM, GCM, braked towing capacity, axle ratings and other vehicle limits are separate. A higher GVM can provide additional vehicle mass capacity where an appropriate engineering pathway exists, but it does not by itself increase every other rating.
Can KME assess a LandCruiser with suspension lifts, larger tyres or other modifications already fitted?
Yes. Existing suspension, wheel, tyre and other modifications can form part of the engineering assessment. Their effect needs to be considered in the context of the complete vehicle rather than assessing each modification in isolation.
Does it matter whether my LandCruiser is modified before or after registration?
Yes. The engineering and administrative pathway can differ depending on whether the vehicle is being modified before first registration or after it is already registered. The applicable requirements also vary by jurisdiction, so KME Vehicle Engineering assesses the vehicle and intended pathway individually.
