Can a LandCruiser 300 be converted into a commercial vehicle?
Yes. An eligible new LandCruiser 300 can be modified through an appropriate Second Stage of Manufacture pathway before first supply. The final configuration must match the applicable approved build and vehicle-specific requirements.
Does the LC300 Commercial Build include a GVM upgrade?
Yes. The commercial build can include an increased GVM as part of the approved configuration. KME Vehicle Engineering’s reference LC300 commercial build uses a 4,210 kg GVM. Final ratings depend on the particular vehicle and approved build specification.
What GCM and towing capacity can the build have?
KME Vehicle Engineering’s reference configuration uses a 7,800 kg GCM and 4,000 kg braked towing capacity. GVM, GCM and towing capacity are separate ratings, so the applicable limits must be confirmed for each build.
Is the LandCruiser 300 Commercial Build exempt from Luxury Car Tax?
A qualifying commercial vehicle designed principally for carrying goods may fall outside Luxury Car Tax. However, the tax treatment depends on the particular vehicle, its configuration and the transaction. A private ruling or previous tax outcome should not be assumed to apply automatically to another purchaser, so customers should obtain appropriate tax advice for their circumstances.
Do I need to contact KME before ordering the vehicle?
Ideally, yes. The commercial build is intended to be completed before first supply, so contacting KME Vehicle Engineering before the vehicle is delivered gives us the best opportunity to confirm the LC300 variant, proposed fit-out and applicable SSM pathway.
Can KME work directly with my Toyota dealer?
Yes. KME Vehicle Engineering can coordinate with Toyota dealership and industry partners so the vehicle purchase, commercial fit-out and engineering requirements are planned together before delivery.
Can I convert an LC300 that is already registered?
The commercial-build service described on this page is specifically based around a pre-registration SSM pathway. If your LC300 is already registered, KME Vehicle Engineering can assess what separate post-registration GVM, GCM, towing or other modification pathways may be available for your vehicle and registration jurisdiction.
Is every LandCruiser 300 variant eligible?
Not necessarily. Eligibility depends on the base vehicle, the current approved build scope and the proposed configuration. KME Vehicle Engineering should confirm the specific vehicle before the build is committed.
